Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This policy explains what TraffiLog ("TraffiLog", "we", "us") collects, how we use it, and how you can delete it. TraffiLog is an independent app that works with Ring devices and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Ring or Amazon.
Information we collect
- Ring account email. When you link TraffiLog from the Ring Appstore, we receive your verified Ring account email to create your account and to sign you in.
- Basic profile. Your first and last name, if provided by Ring.
- Device names. The names of the cameras and doorbells you choose to share, so your dashboard can label activity by device.
- Access tokens. Authorization tokens from Ring that let TraffiLog read your event history, stored securely.
- Timezone preference. A US timezone you select, used to display charts in your local time.
TraffiLog reads your cameras' and doorbells' event history metadata — event type (motion, doorbell press, live view) and timestamps — on demand when you open your dashboard. TraffiLog does not access, receive, record, or store any video, audio, or images from any device.
How we use your information
- To create and maintain your TraffiLog account.
- To build your activity dashboard (busiest hours, trends, per-camera breakdown).
- To authenticate you when you sign in (via a one-time email code).
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
How we handle event data
TraffiLog is "read-through": when you open your dashboard, it fetches your recent event history from Ring, computes your statistics, and briefly caches the computed summary (a few minutes) so the page stays fast. We do not keep a long-term database of your individual events.
How we share information
We share information only with the service providers that operate TraffiLog — cloud hosting and email delivery — and only as needed to run the service. We may disclose information if required by law.
Data retention
We keep your account record (email, name, device names, timezone) and your Ring authorization tokens for as long as TraffiLog is linked to your Ring account. The dashboard summary cache expires automatically within minutes. One-time login codes expire within minutes. We do not retain a historical event store of our own.
Data deletion
You can disconnect TraffiLog at any time from Ring My Apps in your Ring app, which immediately stops all data access. To delete the account data we hold, email staff@trakr.cam from your account email and we will delete your account record and tokens.
Security
Authorization tokens and secrets are held in managed secret storage. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest, and access is restricted to the TraffiLog service.
Children's privacy
TraffiLog is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes are reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
